PRINCESS IN DISTRESS (MK1 GOLF GTi)
I HAVE A MK1 GOLF GTI THAT HAS PROBLEMS LISTED BELOW! NEED HELP GETTING IT FIXED BEFORE GLASTONBURY (JUNE) ANY ADVICE, PARTS TO BUY OR ANY QUOTES FOR CHEAP LABOUR??
the first list are the main jobs that need doing to pass the MOT. The latter list is all the notes that a garage made but the 9 are essentials for MOT pass (+ new tyres)
1) N/S/R wheel cylinder seized & leaking. - only option is new at £14.50
2) Some corrosion to rear metal brake pipes. - Can do some brake pipe 3m (eight pound) and fittings 8 off for £6.80, Total £14.80 (he'll need to flare the ends)
3) Brake drums worn / adjusters at limit. - Drums £35 x 2 Shoes £17.50 x 2?? - only 1 x 17.50 - total £87.50
5) hand brake cables seized. - £16.50 pair
6) Front to rear fuel lines corroded & part of fuel line wrong. - replacement lines - only new really £126.50
7) Fuel pump mountings missing & pump cable tied in. - £35
eight) N/S/F flexible brake hose bulged. - new hose £12.50
9) Fan belt cracked, timing belt age, condition unknown. - £5 + £75

2. N/S/R tyre sidewalls cracked, O/S/R tyre sidewalls badly cracked. (195/50/15VR)
3. N/S/R wheel cylinder seized & leaking.
4. Some corrosion to rear metal brake pipes.
5. Brake drums worn / adjusters at limit.
6. N/S/R wheels both thred damaged.
7. Fuel pressure accunatater supply hose in poor condition.
8. O/S/R wheel cylinder seized, shoe linings coming off & drums worn.hand brake cables seized.
9. Front to rear fuel lines corroded & part of fuel line wrong.
10. Fuel pump mountings missing & pump cable tied in.
11. Exhaust rear joint leaking, centre brackets insecure.
12. Exhaust heat sheilds cable tied to fuel tank.
13. Some coolant loss from heater hoses.
14. Gear selector remote cover missing, front pivot has play and rod ball joints worn insecure.
15. Front tyres wearing on inner edge.
16. N/S/F flexible brake hose bulged.
17. Front brake disc's have surface corrosion.
18. Various areas of corrosion on underbody.
19. Tailgate & rear valance rusted through.
20. Battery loose.
21. Drill holes in bulkhead, require grommets
22. Fan belt cracked, timing belt age, condition unknown.
23. Radiator bleed hose in poor condition.
24. Screen wash inop.
25. O/S number plate lamp inop
26. Rear Fog lamp inop.
27. Reverse lamp inop.
28. Dash illumination inop.
29. Breather pipe from inlet run to rocker gasket is split.
30. Mixture too rich at 9.5%.

shit! thats sum list
i can offer cheap labour an id probly get parts cheaper than that
got a lot of s/h mk1 parts here like drums an stuff aswell
cud easy beat those quotes
