service spanner on dash, get rid :P

My polo is due for a scheduled service but will do it myself, anyone know how to get the service indicator on dash away without taking it to a garage?
any information much appreciated, thank you.

what year is it? it might be in the autodata book in work, or it might be a plug in job. il have a look in work tomorow anywayz!

Setting inside there resets the service indicator, did it in the 9n a few time with the miles i did in that

my hand held vagcom can do it

turn ignition on so all your lights come up, push and hold the miles button,wile still holding it down turn ignition off,keep holding it down till you get ------ where the miles are and jobs a goodun!

this is how i did it unsure if it will work with all vw's but its worth a shot!!

Did mine same as slim as the beep and message was seriously annoying!!

Will give that ago i think.... doing my nut in cant afford a service

thanks for the information lads, and slimothy. will give it ago. The cars a 9n 02 plate so if it works ill post a satisfactory report soon.

anything VAG service settings or any diagnostics i can hook you up as i have the ODB reader tool
